Broad Heads

There are many broad heads that you have the option to choose from. You can buy the Rage Two-Blade Broad heads and you can also buy the G5 Montec Broad head. These two broad heads are very different from each other. The Rage broad head is an expandable broad head while the G5 is a fixed broad head.  An expandable broad head expands when it comes in contact with a surface. While the fixed broad heads stay in a fixed position while coming in contact with a surface. The Rage broad heads will expand to be able to cut with a two inch diameter. These broad heads can be bought with a grain size of 100 grains and 125 grains. The grain of a broad head is its weight. The G5 broad heads have a different cutting diameter for each specific grain. Therefor the G5 broad heads have a one inch cutting diameter for 85 grains, a one and one-sixteenth inch cutting diameter for 100 grains, and a one and one-eighth inch cutting diameter for 125 grains. The different grains that you would shoot depend on the weight of your arrow and the amount of pounds that you are shooting with your bow. Both of these broad heads are very reliable. However the fixed broad heads usually effect how your bow shoots compared to how it shoots with field tips on the arrow. This is because with the three blades in a fixed position will act as a propeller on the arrow and it will move the arrow around differently. The expandable broad heads will fail to open up when it hits the surface of an animal. This problem however has rarely ever happened in the woods.  These two broad heads are the two most popular on the market to hunters today. If it’s brown it’s down.
