Killing A Giant

Everyone wants to shoot that giant buck that everyone will hear about and talk about. However it is not as easy as just setting up a tree stand and hunting. There are many things you have to do to just try and kill a monster. The first thing that you will have to do is eliminate their nose. So therefore you need to use scent-free clothing, cover scents, and attractants. Scent-free clothing that you could use is the scent lock clothing line. They sell hats, gloves, jackets, pants, and one piece suits. Some cover scents you could use are the sprays that are sold by primos, dead down wind, and scent killer. And the attractants that you could use are any retailer that sells deer urine. Another thing I would do is slightly clearing a trail where I walk in and out of the woods. Therefore you eliminate a lot of noise while walking to and from your deer stand. Something else you can do is by making a mock scrape by your stand location. To do this you will need de-scented gloves, rubber boots, a scratch stick from the area, and an attractant to put down on the freshly scratched dirt. When you make your mock scrape make sure that your stand will be downwind from the location of your scrape. The buck will usually approach downwind of the scrape. To make the scrape just use any stick big enough the scrape and not break in the process.  When you are finished making the mock scrape you can just take the stick that you used with you and take it home. This will eliminate any chance of there being any scent on that stick from your scrape that could alert any deer. After that you may use an attractant if you would like. However just the smell of fresh dirt will cause a buck to be curious and visit your mock scrape. While you set traps for the monster buck you also need to put in your scouting hours to pinpoint where that giant is hiding. Also make sure that you are hitting your marks at the target range. I can’t promise that you will shoot a giant if you do all of this but these things can make your chances higher. I encourage you to do these step to try and kill a giant but if not if its brown then its down.
